The great game of bluff involving thieves, lords and pipes

Box cover

Publisher's Description:

Lords, with a craze for collecting, aim to hold the largest and most valuable exhibitions in various castles. The objects being collected are pipes, chamber pots, masks, star souvenirs, toys and old advertising signs. Players, can take different forms of action in two locations. In the auction rooms they try first and foremost to add to their collection. In the castle, on the other hand, they can win move points for their counters by means of exhibitions. They can also use thieves to steal each other’s antiques, or try to put other thieves in prison with the aid of their detective.

The tricky thing is that everybody acts at the same time. It is vital to be at the right place at the right time and take the best action there. This requires flair, correct assessment of the other players, bluff and, of course, a touch of good fortune

An excellent game. This is a game of bluff, and at each stage there are a variety of actions that can be performed. Success mostly comes to the player(s) who manage to be the only one performing a particular action. This gets a little too easy to do when there are less than four players. I have mostly played with three, though, and have enjoyed it nonetheless.
